What is ALAB?
ALAB is a group of volunteers composed of artists, educators, musicians, filmmakers, photographers, and writers who simply want to showcase great talent and inspire more people to share what they have with a bigger audience.
They believe that bringing together the Arts, Humanities, Music, and Film in events such as conferences, exhibits, film festivals, open mics, and workshops truly light the way toward building a nation of creative, open-minded, resilient, and loving individuals.
Dugos: ALAB Para Sa Tagbanua
It is an open mic event on April 15, 2016 from 6-10 pm at Ogress Kitchen, located at 24 B Malingap St., Teachers Village, West Diliman, Quezon City. Dugos: Alab para sa Tagbanua will feature spoken word artists, filmmakers, book authors, and musicians.
The proceeds from the open mic will go to a Tagbanua community in Palawan as seed money for the relaunch of their banana and cogon paper community forestry enterprise. This is an additional livelihood opportunity for the Tagbanua, who lives off seasonal honey hunting, rattan gathering, and resin tapping.
