Romance class community’s #AprilFeelsDay is a gathering of romance authors and readers to celebrate one of the most famous feelings ever . . . Love. As an author who is struggling herself to survive in the world of publishing, she needed a moral boost because of a rough April that is full of self-doubts and quitter feels.
Every author would agree with the fact that #APRILFEELSDAY has inspired them to write more. It gave them the readers’ perspective by listening to actors performing their favorite scene in a book.
Poetry reading came first before the much awaited live reading. It featured Pierra Calasanz-Labrador’s The Heartbreak Diaries.
Liberty. It was the shout out of words from a paperback the actors read. Freedom . . . With the help of Gio Gahol, Rachel Coates, Herv Alvarez, Salve Villarosa and Jef Flores, the passion that every author invested in her books were all set free from the heart of the authors.

Salve and Herv were assigned to read YA stories while Gio, Rachel, and Jef took the adult books. Salve and Herv shared a microphone for the stories Settle the Score by Tara Frejas, Picture Me Naked by D.R. Lee from Luna East vol. 1, and Choco Chip Hips by Agay Llnera. Jef and Rachel on the other hand read That Kind of Guy by Mina V. Esguerra, One Night at the Palace Hotel by Bianca Mori, and Songs to Get Over You by Jay E. Tria. Everybody listened as the feelings of these authors came out from the lips of beautiful people.
For the ‘finale’, calling all the #NATGIOWEEKEND supporters, Gio and Rachel converted the feels into actual audible sensations from the scenes of Welcome to Envy Park by Mina V. Esguerra, The Real Score by Kessica Tanglao, and All Fair in Blog and War by Chrissie Peria. Gio’s performance became unforgettable because of the character of Dave and the British superstar, Marcus. Good job!
Aside from live reading from good looking people, readers met and mingled with their favorite authors alongside book sale, freebies and waffles. Tarot Card reading by C. P. Santi was a box-office hit.
Each attendee who enjoyed the #APRILFEELSDAY was requesting for a repeat including yours truly.
If the world is celebrating April fool’s Day, we could say that we, Filipinos, once celebrated #APRILFEELSDAY where authors poured love for our craft and readers enjoyed mingling with authors they love. Indeed, it is a fantabulous April feels day!
