[Guest Post]+[Review]+[Giveaway]: Keep the Faith by Ana Tejano

happy birthday to me!

Keeping the Faith in Love by Ana Tejano

There were a lot of things about this book that’s close to me, other than the fact that this has been one of my older stories since 2010. When I went back to writing this book, I had finally declared that I had moved on. I thought this should make the writing easy, because I had all the hugot for the plot. And I did get that, and while Faith’s story wasn’t entirely my story, I admit that a lot of my younger self lurks in the corners of this book.

Jodi Lynn Anderson wrote something in her book, Tiger Lily, that reminded me of my process in this one: “Human hearts are elastic. They have room for all sorts of passions, and they can break and heal and love again and again.” My elastic human heart was forgetful, because there was a time I thought I was pulling from a fictional experience. Sometimes I wondered if I should have been writing this book at all, but I kept at it. Partly because I believed that Faith’s story was one worth telling, and because I’ve already written and invested so much time in it. Sayang naman.

I’m glad because that meant I was totally past that. But wow, talk about really hard writing! It helped me, though, to practice some skills of asking questions, looking for other sources of feels (thanks, #romanceclass), and just pushing on until I got it. And I think it worked? A lot of the writing helped me process and see things in a different way, and then I used all my own and other people’s past material and formed it into something that I hope was good. Something that I hope could keep them company in whatever they were feeling – be it heartbreak, happiness, or hopefulness — and to affirm them that love is still – and always is – possible. J

Book Title: Keep the Faith

Release Date: July 31, 2016

Author: Ana Tejano

Blurb: As a community development worker, Faith was quite familiar with heartbreak and recovery after all the time she spent on disaster relief missions. So when her five-year relationship ends right before she left for a mission trip to a typhoon-stricken town in Iloilo, she tries not to make a big deal out of it. How can she be broken up about a breakup when she’s with people who literally lost everything?

But now that she’s back, all Faith wants is for her life to go back to normal and have people stop looking at her with pity. Never mind that she still has a lot of questions about the breakup, or that she feels a tiny ache every time her ex comes up in conversations. She’s okay now, and happily distracted by Nico Tamayo, the attractive new guy at work.

With new possibilities in the horizon, Faith thinks she is well on her way to moving on. But when her past comes calling back to her, will all the good things in her present be enough to keep her on the path? Or will she finally learn that there was more to heartbreak and recovery than what she knows?

Blurb: Birthdays are normally celebrated, but that is not the case for 26-year-old fashion designer, Olivia Rose Salvador. She doesn’t like birthdays, much less her own. She considers October 1st as a jinx, because all through her life, all the important people in her life have left her right smack on that day. As the heir of the international Style Rose fashion brand, she is in charge of preparing for Style Rose’s first appearance in Philippine Fashion Week. During her stay in the Philippines, she meets 31-year old pediatrician, Jake Ocampo, who is literally the “boy next door” as he lives right next door to her temporary condo unit in Bonifacio Global City. They start to get to know each other and everything seems to be going smoothly, as both, who have been burned before in terms of love, start to open up again and start living life to the fullest. But what happens when it seems the jinx is strong and the ghosts of their painful pasts start coming back and making themselves felt? Will these ghosts threaten their very new and very fragile relationship? Or will Jake’s love for Olivia break the October 1st curse?

A glimpse of #romanceclass2017 novella

I created a board on Pinterest just to collect my ideas for today. Sorry. I am a fan of Descendants that is why I chose them to be my pegs. What if they have Filipino blood… What would you think they will be.

  1. P & B both have glasses
  2. They’re also into spoken word poetry. Expect poems from me haha
  3. Both have the same algorithm to follow.
  4. B, a plus size sexy MC….

Good night guys! I am just so blessed to be a part of the #RomanceClass2017 Anthology!  Happy Christmas Forever is a short story and a sort of a prequel to the New Adults Joshua and Sasha! I will be writing on that if you like the idea? Let me know ahaha ❤
